If you have an icon on your desktop for this pick it now. If you don't have an icon here you can select
{Start} {Programs} {Accessories} {Hyperterminal} and there should be an icon in there for this task, if not jump to the bottom of this document to where it says FIRST TIME EVER and follow the instructions there.
After you pick your icon for this task, the next dialog box has the word “Connect” in the very upper left and default button is “Dial” so just select that.
Your modem should now make the connection. In the instructions below, prompts from the BBS are in Bold Italics what you type is bold and ¿ means tap enter.
Once you are connected. The first Prompt is:
First Name:
Answer this with: PRIME ¿
The next prompt is:
Last Name:
Answer this with: USER
¿
The next prompt is:
Is this correct
Answer this with: Y ¿
If you did not answer the above three prompts correctly you will be disconnected at this point.
The next prompt is:
Password:
Answer this with: [MSIMSI] ¿ ( you will not see what you type, you will see *s. The square brackets [] are required)
If you did not answer the password prompt correctly you will be disconnected at this point.
Otherwise, a small menu is transmitted from MSI at this point followed with
the next prompt:
Your Choice?
Answer this with:
U (no ¿ carriage return , U = upload)
The next prompt is:
Your Choice?
Answer this with:
Z (for Zmodem, or X for Xmodem, or Y for Ymodem, or K for Kermit no ¿ carriage return)
The next prompt is:
File Name?
Answer this with the name of your EZ Cap file. Any valid MS-Dos filename, eight letters or numbers, optional period followed by up to three optional letters or numbers. Any MS Dos file name should be okay we immediately rename it anyway, but if you are transmitting more than one file in this session, each file should have a unique MS-Dos filename. No drive letter or path should be used here. We would like you to use a filename that has your office name in it as opposed to using Prime. Then in the unlikely event there is a problem with the file we know who to get back to. I.E. Dr Kildare’s office would call their file:
Kildare1 ¿
The next Prompt is:
Description:
Answer this with:
¿ (just tap enter, you don’t need to put anything in the description)
The system will tell you to begin your transmission, depending on which protocol you choose the next prompt includes:
(CTRL-X aborts)
Start the upload process at your end by selecting Transfer from the menu and then select Send File (or pick the icon on the tool bar that looks like a piece of paper speeding to the right).
When the dialog box asks for the Filename: Enter the exact name of the file on your system including the drive and path if necesssary. You can browse here if you like, but you need to enter this filename quickly because the system is impatient. The protocol shown below the filename should be Zmodem.
Click Send.
It will tell you whether the file transfer was a success or not so watch for that confirmation. After the transmission finishes you will get the same little menu as above when you first signed in and the prompt is:
Your Choice?
Answer this with:
G ¿ (Good Bye!)
Be sure to hang up your modem. You can do this by selecting “Call” then “Disconnect” from the menu or use the Icon on the toolbar that looks like a handset coming down on to a telephone.
END OF SENDING THE CLAIMS.
Click the “Start Button”
Select “Programs”
Select “Accessories”
Select “HyperTerminal”
There should be an Icon in the Hyperterminal Folder Window called Hypertrm.exe. Double click this Icon to start Hyperterminal.
This will bring up a dialog box that says “Connection Description” at the very upper left and “New Connection” beneath that. It says, “Enter and name and choose an icon for the connection”. Enter something like “Primecare MSI BBS” in the name field. Choose an Icon for this Connection from the ones shown. I like the nuclear cloud next to the telephone. Click on the Icon you like then select OK.
This next dialog box wants the phone number to dial. Enter
7230511,,,22,22,22
Then select OK
Now go to the top of this document and where it says SENDING THE CLAIMS and follow those instructions and when you reach END OF SENDING THE CLAIMS return here to complete the one step below.
Hyperterm will ask “Do You want to save session PrimeCare MSI BBS” and you should say yes.
This will leave an icon for this task in the Hyperterm Folder. If you want a copy of this icon on the desktop, you can use your right mouse button and drag this icon onto the desktop and then when you release the right button click on "Copy Here".
